The short version

You can use Cove without creating an account. Your journal entries, moods, card history, favorites, and saved readings are stored on your iPhone; Cove does not send the text of your journal or readings to us, Apple, or RevenueCat for subscription processing. If you choose a Premium subscription, Apple handles payment and RevenueCat helps the app check access.

Information on your device

The app stores your daily card and reveal state, journal entries and moods, saved readings, favorite cards, activity and badge progress, and your reminder preferences locally. A limited copy of the daily card and its reveal state is shared between the app and its Home Screen widget through your device’s App Group storage. The widget does not generate a separate draw.

These records are not an online Cove account. They remain on your device unless you choose to share content using an iPhone sharing feature. Your device’s own backup settings may also affect copies held by Apple.

Reminders and audio

Daily reminders are optional and off by default. If you enable them, the app asks for notification permission and schedules reminders locally on your iPhone. Audio plays using bundled or device-generated sounds; your journal text is not sent to an audio provider.

Premium subscriptions

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat provides purchase-status and entitlement services so Cove can recognize and restore Premium access. This may involve purchase, subscription, and app/device identifiers needed to provide that service. Cove does not provide your journal entries or saved readings to RevenueCat. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account settings. Apple’s and RevenueCat’s own privacy policies apply to their processing.

This website

This is a static website. It does not use analytics, advertising trackers, sign-up forms, or third-party embeds, and we do not set tracking cookies here. As with ordinary website delivery, the hosting provider may process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, and access logs to serve and secure the site.

Support and choices

If you email support, we receive the email address and message you choose to send; do not include private journal entries unless you want to share them with us. You can stop reminders in the app or iPhone settings, control subscription billing through Apple, and remove locally stored app data by deleting the app, subject to any device backups you may have enabled.
